Message from Dr. London:
Due to anticipated heavy traffic on Interstate 35 as a result of evacuations from Hurricane Ike, all middle school and high school campuses in Hays CISD will be released early on Friday. This is a precautionary step to remove students and buses from the roadways as early as possible. "Even though we don't expect the weather to get bad until Saturday, we are expecting a great deal of traffic from evacuees," said Dr. Kirk London, Hays CISD Superintendent. "I choose to err on the side of caution for the safety of our students and staff." The schedule is as follows: high schools will be released at 12:30 p.m and middle schools will be released at 1:45 p.m. Elementary schools will be released at the regular time, 2:40 p.m. All buses will run according to this early release schedule. The Lehman High School varsity football game has been moved to today, Thursday at Shelton Stadium. The Hays High School varsity football game against Bowie High School is re-scheduled for Thursday at 7:00 pm in Austin @ Nelson Field.
